Sunflowers classroom Age 7-12
Hi everyone! I’m Kelsey. Around 3 years ago now, the homeschool hub we now call seeds to sunflowers was created! I’ve absolutely loved watching the space grow and become what it is today. I love children and it’s my number one goal to ensure I am providing them with an inclusive classroom where they feel safe and welcome and that my program is accessible to the community.
I love incorporating dramatic play and hands on learning within my classroom. I’ve learnt so much over the years and couldn’t be more grateful for the community that allows me to create my dream space.
Term 3 2024 Sunflowers overview
This term in the sunflowers classroom, we are expanding our Auslan language to include numbers and family members.
Daily we do 2 blocks of 10 minute literacy rotations, these consist of typing, reading, handwriting and spelling.
This term we are really focusing on our grammar and punctuation, which we will then begin to apply in creative texts. Our numeracy topic for term 3 is money.
On Mondays we cover history in the afternoons, we are looking particularly at timelines, family trees and the comparison of now VS then.
On Wednesdays were exploring art with mixed media, lots of fun activities and focusing on self portraits.
On Fridays this term we are tackling chemistry, we will be learning how to write a scientific report and conducting different experiments together and in partners!
